MASTER CONTROL PANEL Main
Screen - This is the starting point for all of the great
features you will find within BoatScope. The screen is separated into three
modules, two of which are based on search criteria. The upper module
facilitates searches throughout all of our databases using the boat
identification number or numbers. The lower module is designated
exclusively for vessels which are documented with the U.S. Coast Guard.
On the right side of the screen you will find a search resources module
with links to supplemental information and additional
searches.
UPPER MODULE - ALL DATABASES Search
Results Summary - The Search Databases button will return a summary
of findings from all of our databases based on the boat identification
criteria. A corresponding Details link for each record will show a
breakdown of the respective data. This search will also look for any
identification number cross-references found in the various data
sources. Boat Status Report - The
Status Report button will initiate a complete analysis of the boat's
standing based on its identification criteria. This includes
findings from all of our databases with a cross-check for other related
identification numbers. This is an extremely valuable tool for use in
researching the boat's overall title status. Hull Number Validation
- The Validate Hull Number button will analyze the hull identification
number shown in the search criteria to see if it conforms to Coast Guard
formatting requirements. A validation report is then shown which offers
a breakdown of the various hull number elements. Manufacturer Data -
The Verify Manufacturer button will obtain details about the boat's
builder from our manufacturer's database. This search is based on the
first three letters of the hull number criteria which serves as the
manufacturer's identification code.
LOWER MODULE - COAST GUARD DATABASE Vessel Summary
- The Vessel Summary button will produce a condensed list of all vessels
that match the search criteria entered into the lower module. This will
include a details link which will generate a breakdown of all
specifications for the subject vessel. Vessel Search Report -
The Vessel Report button will generate a detailed report showing the
specifications for all vessels matching the search criteria. This is
convenient for those who wish to view or print an entire listing of all
returned records in detail. Browse Vessels - The
Browse Vessels button will allow the user to scroll through selected
records one at a time. It also contains buttons for the printing of
individual mailing labels, standard envelopes, and mailers. It is a
great service for handling smaller listings on the fly without having to
download the information. Owner Summary - The
Owner Summary button will produce a listing of all owners with mailing
addresses for the selected vessels. The list can be downloaded into
Excel, comma delimited text, or tab delimited text files. These can be
used with most label or mail-merge applications. This service is
designed for handling large listings and mass mailing projects.
