About MarineTitle.com

An overview of our website and how it can benefit you.

Visit our sister website at BoatWiki.com for more databases, resources, and guidelines.

MarineTitle.com is the longest running boat title, registration, and history search resource on today's world wide web. It was established over two decades ago and has acquired a substantial following among boat buyers, sellers, brokers, dealers, lenders, and the boating public in general. We now enjoy a high profile as the premier source of title information for everything from ski-boats to mega-yachts. This includes our exclusive boat history database which draws information from no less than eight maritime data sources all rolled into one convenient interface.

Our growing popularity is founded on a degree of knowledge and expertise which is second to none in the marine industry. The publishers have owned, managed, and operated boating related companies for over thirty years. Such endeavors include Coast Guard vessel documentation, state boat registration, marine escrow, yacht brokerage, new boat sales, yacht charters, commercial fishing, and marine technologies just to name a few. Most if not all of these entailed the need for comprehensive and highly accurate boat title information.

Issues surrounding boat titling and related transactions are far more complicated than most people realize. During it's lifetime, a particular boat may have been subjected to the laws of one or more states, local registration agencies, the federal government, and perhaps even foreign countries. Unfortunately, there is little conformity with regard to the manner in which ownership, liens, and encumbrances are acknowledged, recorded, or prioritized. Titling protocols such as salvage and theft branding are moreover unavailable in most jurisdictions.

We have therefore made it our mission to acquaint readers with various aspects of boat titling methods and to present viable solutions for specific title research needs. This covers state registered boats, U.S. Coast Guard documented vessels, and foreign registered yachts. While designed primarily as an informational resource, the site is built around our renowned "BoatScope" database service. It encompasses critical areas which are paramount to anyone in need of checking out background or historical information of all types. These include boats which have been involved in incidents, damaged, stolen, auctioned, recalled, documented, and encumbered. BoatScope also contains a full listing of all Coast Guard documented vessels.

As for layout, our presentation has been organized into a small number of master pages which act as gateways to more detailed information. Such links can be observed at the top of every screen and represent priority topics covered within the site. These consist of, state, federal, and foreign methods for titling and various title research resources and guidelines. Given the enormous amount of information provided herein, we suggest you begin by visiting each master page briefly to become familiar with its related content.

This site is based on dynamic information which is ever changing due to ongoing developments in boat title, registration, documentation, loan security, and research methods. It is therefore a work in progress which requires constant revisions and upgrades. In order to stay current, we invite you to visit our pages on a regular basis to learn about the latest industry trends.

It is our privilege that you have allowed us the opportunity of conveying our message and we wish to express our gratitude. We sincerely hope you will find the information contained herein to be meaningful and constructive. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions about how we may further enhance this publication to better serve your particular needs. More information about our web site and contact links can be found at the bottom of every page.
