Registry Overview

New Zealand provides a system for the national registration or flagging of yachts. This is administered by Maritime New Zealand in two parts. Vessels registered under Part A provides a title for the vessel and facilitates the recording of mortgages. Part B registration only provides evidence of nationality and does not confer title or facilitate mortgages. New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It consists of two main landmasses, the North Island and the South Island, and more than 700 smaller islands. New Zealand is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy. Elizabeth II is the queen of New Zealand and thus the head of state. English is the predominant language in New Zealand which is spoken by most of the population.
