Registry Overview

Poland offers a national registration system for the flagging of yachts and ships. It is administered by the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS), an independent classification society established in 1936. It is a non-profit company authorized by the Polish government to administer the registration of yachts and ships. The PRS is a European Union flag registration which is recognized around the world and is available to all nationalities. It is valid for the lifetime of the vessel with no need to renew and is very simple to obtain. The Polish flag registration is currently the easiest and most inexpensive flag in the world.

Registration Requirements

The Polish Register of Shipping is available to all types of vessels up to 24 meters long, subject to certain qualifications. You can register in Poland under your own name or as corporate owner. Any nationality can own a yacht under the Polish flag. It is not required that the owner of the resides in Poland or even in the EU / EEA. The place of residence of the owner is not relevant.

Recording Methods

The Polish yacht registration certificate consists of a credit card type of document written in English and Polish which is valid worldwide. In the Polish legal system, the issue of maritime mortgage is governed by the Maritime Code of 18, which is also regulated in three international conventions.
